This rare pale wood Model FD-110 rocking chair, produced by France & Daverkosen in the 1960s is constructed of a solid beech frame which has been oiled, the makers mark is clearly visible on the inside back. The frame is sound.
The new, firm cushions have been upholstered in soft blue/teal 'Sienna' fabric by Linwood, please contact us for fabric samples.

Ole Wanscher (1903-1985) studied under Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later worked at Klint’s design studio before becoming an independent furniture designer. He helped shape Danish furniture design as a designer and as an educator when he took over Klint’s professorship at the Academy.
Wanscher’s classic and contemporary designs made him popular. In 1958, the Danish newspaper Politiken wrote: “Owning a Wanscher chair is an adventure every day, and will be so even several hundred years from now, for this is how long it lasts”. Today, his modern classics are still revered for their detail and his deep respect for materials.
Wanscher viewed furniture design as a branch of architecture and emphasised slim dimensions and resilient forms. Creating his best-known designs between the late 1940s and early 1960s, in the post-war era when the “design for all” philosophy emerged. In Denmark, some of design’s biggest names created functional and affordable furniture for the Danish people and the small spaces they lived in. Wanscher took great interest in industrially produced yet high-quality furniture, designing several successful pieces.
Wanscher was awarded the Copenhagen Carpenters’ Guild Annual Award and the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1960

Visit product page →A highly unique design by Italian architect, furniture and lighting designer, Vico Magistretti (1920-2006) for Cassina in 1983. The Veranda's adjustable frame allows the seat to be positioned in various states. The foot rest can be pulled out entirely and a handle by the seat lifted to recline the chair. The head-rest can be lifted to cradle the head.
The chair has a steel frame with black leather, the leather has been cleaned and is in very good condition with no tears.

This model is an early production with the cantilevering back rest. Reupholstered in soft brown leather on a three star chrome-plated base. The makers mark clearly visible. Excellent condition.

Depth 520mmOsvaldo Borsani (Varedo 1911- Milano 1985) began work at an early age in the family business of making furniture.
In 1933 he participated in the fifth Triennale of Milan with the design for the “Minimal House”, which was awarded the silver medal. In the post-war period, after graduation from Polytechnic, he formed friendships with numerous artists like Lucio Fontana, Agenore Fabbri, Aligi Sassu, Roberto Crippa, Fausto Melotti, and Arnaldo Pomodoro, together with whom he realized important works of art in furnishing and interior architecture.
He founded Tecno in 1953 with his brother Fulgenzio. His first industrial designs were the P40 adjustable armchair (1953) and the D70 reversible seat sofa. In 1968 it was the office system Graphis thanks to which Tecno became a world-leading manufacturer in design for the office. -
Visit product page →An Original Hans Wegner Model J18 'Black Edition' rocking chair for Danish manufacturer FDB Möbler, Originally designed in 1944.
The rocking chair has a painted beech frame, blade style runners, high spindle back and traditional paper cord seat.
They paper chord is in very good condition with minor staining, the paint has worn away over time in various places on the chair, giving a lovely vintage aesthetic.
