A large teak sideboard, in excellent condition by Danish designer Hans Peter Hansen. Comprising of 3 sliding doors and 4 baize lined drawers with hidden handles, We have fully stripped and re oiled this sideboard to show its beautiful patina.
Dimensions 240cm wide x 46.5cm deep x 80cm high
Born in Copenhagen in 1914, Hansen studied carpentry at the Copenhagen School of Crafts before working as a joiner. He then studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts where he developed his modernist design style.
In 1944, Hansen founded his own furniture company, Hans Hansen Furniture with his wife, Goethe. The company quickly became known for its innovative and functional designs, which won several prestigious awards.
He also designed furniture for major companies such as Fritz Hansen and Le Clint.
